A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AMENDING RESOLUTION 04-039,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD AND EXECUTE A
CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE
CITY HALL ANNEX AND CITY HALL RENOV A TION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City Council appropriated funds for City Hall Annex and City Hall
Reconstruction project; and
WHEREAS, the City completed the process of bidding the construction contract in
accordance with federal, state and city bidding procedures; and
WHEREAS, bids received exceeded the amount of funding allowed; and
WHEREAS, further bid analysis has resulted in the development of revised
specifications which are intended to be consistent with the funds available; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager may award and execute a construction contract with
authorization from Council; and
WHEREAS, delegation of bid award and contract execution is appropriate;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend that the City Manager is hereby authorized to award the construction
contract for the City Hall Annex and City Hall Reconstruction project to the
lowest responsible, responsive bidder(s), and to take all necessary and proper
steps to carry out the contract, including approving appropriate change orders that
do not exceed the amount previously authorized by Council for this project in the
approved budget.
ADOPTED by the City Council ofthe City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this seventh day of September 2004.
