RESOLUTION 04-041
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD AND EXECUTE A SMALL
WORKS CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE COMPLETION OF
THE JACOB MILLER (IVY STREET) WATER LINE PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City Council appropriated funds for the Jacob Miller
(Ivy Street) Water Line project; and
WHEREAS, the City is in the process of bidding a Small Works construction
contract in accordance with federal, state and city bidding procedures; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager may award and execute a Small Works
construction contract with authorization from Council; and
WHEREAS, delegation of bid award and contract execution is appropriate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Port Townsend that the City Manager is hereby authorized to award the contract for the
Jacob Miller (Ivy Street) Water Line project to the lowest responsible, responsive
bidder(s), and to take all necessary and proper steps to carry out the contract, including
approving appropriate change orders that do not exceed the amount previously authorized
by Council for this project in the approved budget.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a special
business meeting thereof, held this ninth day of August, 2004.
