RESOLUTION 04-040
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD AND EXECUTE A
CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AND NEGOTIATE AND AWARD ANY
PROFESSIONAL SERVICE CONTRACTS REQUIRED FOR THE COMPLETION
OF THE SKATEBOARD PARK PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City Council appropriated funds for the Skateboard Park project; and
WHEREAS, the City is in the process of bidding the construction contract in
accordance with state and city bidding procedures; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager may award and execute a construction contract with
authorization from Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager may negotiate and award a Professional Services
Agreement with authorization from Council; and
WHEREAS, delegation of bid award and contract execution is appropriate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend that the City Manager is hereby authorized to award the contract for the Skateboard
Park project to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder(s), and to take all necessary and proper
steps to carry out the contract, including approving appropriate change orders that do not exceed
the amount previously authorized by Council for this project in the approved budget.
FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend that
the City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate and execute any Professional Services
Agreements required for the completion ofthe Skateboard Park project within the approved
project budget.
ADOPTED by the City Council ofthe City of Port Townsend at a special business
meeting thereof, held this ninth day of August, 2004.
