A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO A WARD AND EXECUTE A
CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT WITH VISION BUILDERS, INC. OF PORT ANGELES
FOR THE FIRE STATION RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City Council appropriated funds for the Fire Station Reconstruction
Project; and
WHEREAS, the City has called for and has received bids according to the applicable
Federal, State and City bidding procedures; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive, responsible bidder is Vision Builders, Inc. of Port
Angeles; and
WHEREAS, the City Council previously authorized the City Manager (by Resolution
04-016) to award a construction project; and
WHEREAS, the bid amounts exceeded the Architect's estimate by more than 10%; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager would like Council approval to award the construction
contract for the additional amount.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend that the City Manager is hereby authorized to award the contract for the Fire Hall
Reconstruction Project to Vision Builders, Inc. of Port Angeles, and to take all necessary and
proper steps to carry out the contract including approving appropriate change orders that do not
exceed the amount previously authorized by Council for this project in the approved budget.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this twenty-first day of June 2004.
