AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND REVISING AND
ESTABLISHING THE FEES FOR THE RECREATION AND SWIMMING
PROGRAMS, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 1997 AND AMENDING ORDINANCE
# 2493
WHEREAS, beginning January 1, 1995, the City agreed to take over the public recreation
program and management of the swimming pool, located at Mountain View Elementary School and
owned by the Port Townsend School District; and
WHEREAS, in Ordinance 2493, the City Council set fees for the Recreation and Swim
Programs for 1996, which fees are hereby amended; and
WHEREAS, following public City Council meetings, in order to defray City costs, the City
determines it necessary to establish and adjust fees for the recreation programs for 1997,
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, in regular session hereby
ordains as follows:
Section 1. From and after January 1, 1997, the following fees and charges are established for
the City Recreation Program:

Section 2. From and after January 1, 1997, the following fees and charges are established for
the City Swimming Program:

Section 3. The Parks, Recreation and Property Committee of the City Council is hereby
authorized to set special rates for the recreation and swimming programs for promotional purposes.
Such revisions of the above fees and charges shall be for limited periods of time only, and need not be
approved by full Council.
This Ordinance shall take effect January 1, 1997, upon its approval and publication in the form
and manner required by law.

Read for the first, second, and third times and passed by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend, Washington, at a regular meeting thereof, held this 2nd day of December 1996.
