RESOLUTION 04-017
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD AND EXECUTE A
CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AND NEGOTIATE AND AWARD ANY
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACTS REQUIRED FOR THE COMPLETION OF
THE TRUNK SEWER REPLACEMENT (PHASE III) PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City Council appropriated funds for Trunk Sewer Replacement
(Phase III) project; and
WHEREAS, the City is in the process of bidding the construction contract in accordance
with federal, state and city bidding procedures; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager may award and execute a construction contract with
authorization from Council; and
WHEREAS, delegation of bid award and contract execution is appropriate.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend as follows:
1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to award the contract for the Trunk Sewer
Replacement (Phase III) project to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder(s), and to take all
necessary and proper steps to carry out the contract, including approving appropriate change
orders that do not exceed the amount previously authorized by Council for this project in the
approved budget.
2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate and execute any Professional
Services Agreements required for the completion of the Trunk Sewer Replacement (Phase III)
project within the approved project budget.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this nineteenth day of April 2004.
