MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP SESSION OF AUGUST 13, 2001
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend met in workshop session this thirteenth
day of August, 2001, at 7:00 p.m. in the Port Townsend Council Chambers of City Hall,
Mayor Geoff Masci presiding.
ROLL CALL AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Councilmembers present at roll call were Joe Finnie, Allen Frank, Veto Garrison, Geoff
Masci, Syd Lipton, Bill Wolcott and Alan Youse. Staff members present were City
Manager David Timmons, City Attorney John Watts, Public Works Director Ken Clow,
Finance Director Michael Legarsky, Building & Community Development Director Jeff
Randall, Fire Chief Ed Edwards, City Clerk Pam Kolacy,
MACRO OVERVIEW OF THE 2002 BUDGET
City Manager David Timmons presented a macro overview of the 2002 city budget
which lasted about two hours. He noted that this is the kickoff of the 2002 budget cycle.
The overview was developed during a staff retreat. Mr. Timmons stated he will be
meeting with department directors in the next two weeks to discuss departmental budget
requests.
Public comment:
Nancy Dorgan: questioned how the city council will interface with the staff presentation.
Leola Armstrong; complimented Mr. Timmons on the presentation.
There were brief comments from each council member regarding the challenges facing
the council during this budget cycle.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:10 p.m.
