AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND REVISING AND
ESTABLISHING THE FEES FOR THE RECREATION AND SWIMMING
PROGRAMS, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 1998 AND AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 2557
WHEREAS, beginning January 1, 1995, the City agreed to take over the public recreation
program and management of the swimming pool, located at Mountain View Elementary School and
owned by the Port Townsend School District; and
WHEREAS, in Ordinance 2557, the City Council set fees for the Recreation and Swim
Programs for 1997, which fees are hereby amended; and
WHEREAS, following public City Council hearings, workshops, and meetings, in order to
defray City costs, the City determines it necessary to establish and adjust fees for the recreation
programs for 1998,
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, in regular session
hereby ordains as follows:
SECTION 1. From and after January 1, 1998, the following revised fees and charges are
established for the City Recreation Program:

SECTION 2. The following fees and charges remain established and in effect for the 1998
City Swimming Program:

Single Use -- Youth $2.00
20-Admission Pass -- Youth 25.00
Single Use -- Adult 3.00
20-Admission Pass -- Adult 40.00
Single Use -- Senior 2.00
20-Admission Pass -- Senior 30.00
Single Use - Kiddie 1.00
12-Month Pass (All Ages) 250.00
6-Month Pass (All Ages) 150.00
SECTION 3. The Parks, Recreation and Property Committee of the City Council is hereby
authorized to set special rates for the recreation and swimming programs for promotional purposes.
Such revisions of the above fees and charges shall be for limited periods of time only, and need not
be approved by full Council.
This Ordinance shall take effect January 1, 1998.
Read for the first, second, and third times and adopted by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend, Washington, at a regular meeting thereof, held this 15th day of December 1997.
