AN ORDINANCE establishing adjusted salaries for certain non-union
city positions, and establishing an effective date.
the City Council wishes to implement cost-of-living adjustments for certain positions
which are not included in labor agreements; Now, Therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, IN REGULAR SESSION
ASSEMBLED, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. From and after January 1, 1998, the salaries for the following city positions
are fixed not to exceed the following amounts, which salaries shall be paid monthly:
City Attorney ............................................... 6,132.97
Public Works Director ........................................ 5,350.46
City Administrator ........................................... 5,293.64
Finance Director ............................................. 5,134.74
Building and Community Development Director .................... 5,113.11
Police Chief ................................................ 5,020.22
City Engineer ............................................... 4,617.47
Fire Chief .................................................. 4,614.01
Public Works Operations Director ............................... 4,308.54
Assistant Fire Chief .......................................... 4,290.03
Chief Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator ....................... 4,175.51
Development Review Engineer ................................. 4,130.30
Chief Water Quality and Treatment Operator ....................... 4,100.35
Section 4. All other salaries shall remain as previously established.
Section 5. Any and all actions taken pursuant to the authority of this ordinance but
prior to its passage are hereby ratified and confirmed.
Section 6. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage, approval and publication
in the form and manner provided by law.
Read for the first, second and third times, and passed by the City Council and approved
by the Mayor on /~/o. ~ ., 1998.
