AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND AMENDING SECTION 1.02.010,
ADOPTION, CHAPTER 1.02, CODE ADOPTION, OF THE PORT TOWNSEND
MUNICIPAL CODE, BY CHANGING THE NAME AND DESIGNATION OF THE
PUBLISHER OF THE PORT TOWNSEND MUNICIPAL CODE FROM BOOK
PUBLISHING COMPANY TO CODE PUBLISHING COMPANY
WHEREAS, Ordinance 2011, adopted in 1985, constituted a codification of the ordinances of
the City of Port Townsend by Book Publishing Company, and publication thereof in a volume entitled
City of Port Townsend Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Port Townsend to continue with the present
codification of the City's ordinances and to change the publication company from Book Publishing
Company to Code Publishing Company, without effecting any significant change other than in the
format and availability of the Port Townsend Municipal Code, which will be in a written published
format as well as in an electronic format available on computer diskette,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That Section 1.02.010, Adoption, of the Port Townsend Municipal Code shall
be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
1.02.010 Adoption.
Pursuant to the provisions of RCW 35.21.500 through 35.21.570 and RCW 35A. 11.020, RCW
35A.21.010, and RCW 35A.21.160, there is hereby adopted the Port Townsend Municipal Code, as
compiled, edited and published by Book Code Publishing Company, Seattle, Washington.

SECTION 2. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance or its application to any person
or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance, or the application of the provision to
other persons or circumstances is not affected.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five days after the date of its publication in the
manner provided by law.
Read for the first, second, and third times and adopted by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend, Washington, at a regular meeting thereof, held this 20th day of April, 1998.
