HomeMy WebLinkAbout1711 Real Property Purchases ORDINANe NO. /7// AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF REAL'-PROPERTY FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES, PROVIDING FOR THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SAID PURCHASE, AND DIRECTING THE EXECUTION OF DOCUMENTS THEREFOR. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. In order to acquire real property adjacent to the existing City Hall facilities for use as administrative office sites, for off street parking, for park areas, for the providing of a public wharf, and for such other purposes as municipal needs may in the future require, it is here and hereby found and declared to be in the public interest, and~for the benefit of the citizens of the City of Port Townsend, tha~ certain real property located in Blocks 5 and 6 in the Original Town'ire to the City of Port Townsend. Section 2. Said property shall be purchased upon the following terms and conditions: (1) Lots 7 and 8 in Block 5 of the Original Townsite, and Tideland Districts 24 and 25 adjoining said lots, including the release of a street lease and embracing a pier, shall be purchased for the sum of $15,500.00, payable as follows: $2,600.00 once'closing, $700,00 on January 5, 1975, and $700.00, or more semiannually thereafter, with interest at the rate of 8% per annum on declininq principal balances. (2) Lo~s 3,4~5 aM 6 in Block 5 (including portions of Tideland Distichs 20 and 22); Lots 1,2,3,4,5 and 7 in Block 6 (including portions of Tideland Districts 26,28 and 30), al~ situate in the Original Townsite to the d~ty of Port Townsend; and Tideland Districts 21,23,27,29 and 31, all situate in front of the City of Port Townsend, for a purchase price of $107,500.00, payable as follows: $27,400.00 on closing, $6,300.00 on January 5, 1975, and $6,300.00 semiannually thereafter, with interest on declining principal balances at the rate of 8% per annum.
