HomeMy WebLinkAbout1722 Vehicle Speed Limits ORDINANCE NO. ~ 72 ~_ AN ORDINANCE SETTING VEHICLE SPEED LIMITS ON STATE ROUTE 20 BETWEEN QUINCY STREET AND THE WESTERN CITY LIMITS. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. No vehicle of any kind shall travel on that portion of State Route 20, also known as Water Street and Sims Way, in the City of Port Townsend, between the East boundary of Quincy Street and the Western corporate limits of the City in excess of the speeds hereinafter set forth, to-wit: (a) from the East boundary of Quincy Street to the East boundary of Van Buren Street, 25 miles per hour. (b) from the East boundary of Van Buren Street to the East boundary of Prosper Street, 30 miles per hour. (c) from the East boundary of Prosper Street to the East boundary of Howard Street, 40 miles per hour. (d) from the East boundary of Howard Street to the Western corporate boundary, 50 miles per hour. Section 2. All ordinances or portions of ordinances in conflict herewith are here and hereby repealed to the extent only that such conflict may exist. Section.~3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage, approval, and publication in the form and manner required by law. Duly read passed and approved Octo~ 15, 1974.
