HomeMy WebLinkAbout2642 Supplemental Budget AppropriationORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE appropriating the sum of $405,000 to the Water-Sewer Fund and the sum of $61,000 to the Storm and Surface Water Fund; and amending the 1998 Budget; making f'mdings and declaring an emergency. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, UPON REVIEW OF THE 1998 BUDGET, MAKES THE FOLLOWING FINDINGS: FINDING ONE: Water-Sewer Fund The Water-Sewer Fund did not receive final approval of the 1998 Capital Improvement Program for 1998, and the Public Works Director was directed by City Council to develop additional items in the program that was to include a narrative description of each project, prioritization of each project, time lines and milestones, budget and list of funding sources for each project, and staffmg requirements for each scenario for Council approval. FINDING TWO: Water-Sewer Fund The City Council has now completed the review of the 1998 Capital Improvement Program for the Water-Sewer Fund. FINDING THREE: Storm and Surface Water Fund The Storm and Surface Water Fund did not receive final approval of the 1998 Capital Improvement Program for 1998, and the Public Works Director was directed by City Council to develop additional items in the program that was to include a narrative description of each project, prioritization of each project, time lines and milestones, budget and list of funding sources for each project, and staffing requirements for each scenario for Council approval. FINDING FOUR: Storm and Surface Water Fund The City Council has now completed the review of the 1998 Capital Improvement Program for the Storm and Surface Water Fund. Whereas, the above findings are due to events which could not have reasonably been known at the time of adoption of the 1998 Budget; THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The sum of FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND FIVE DOLLARS ($405,000) is hereby appropriated as a supplement to the 1998 Water-Sewer Fund from sources as specified in the Capital Improvement Program Attachment. Section 2. The sum of SIXTY ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($61,000) is hereby appropriated as a supplement to the 1998 Storm and Surface Water Fund from sources as specified in the Capital Improvement Program Attachment. Section 3. Th~ approved 1998 Capital Improvement Program project budgets for the Water- Sewer Fund and the Storm and Surface Water Fund are hereby amended to include the following items: Water-Sewer Fund .(Fund 411) Fire Hydrants Meter Equipment Tier 1 Engineering - Water SR-19 Water Line Payment Tri-Area Well Property Purchase Property Purchase - Pasture Tier 1 Engineering - Wastewater City Waterline Upgrades County Waterline Upgrades Wastewater Collection System Improvements Lift Station Generator Tier 1 Engineering Total Water-Sewer Fund $10,000 15,000 10,000 75,000 100,000 100,000 10,000 20,000 20,000 25,000 20,000 10,000 $405,000 Storm and Surface Water Fund (Fund 412) Priority/Neighborhood Projects Catch basins Total Storm and Surface Water Fund $56,000 5,000 $61,000 Section 4.
