A RESOLUTION DECLARING AN INTENTION TO FORM
A LOCAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT~ FOR WATER LINE
INSTALLATION IN A PORTION OF THE EISENBEIS
AN~RAILROAD ADDITIONS TO THE CITY, ESTIMATING
COSTS THEREOF, DESCRIBING THE PROPOSED AREA,
AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING
WHEREAS, there are certain areas of the City of Port Townsend
where water service is needed, and where funds are not available
for such improvements from general water department funds, and
WHE~R~AS, it appears that the formation of a Local Improvement
District zor the purpose of financing and implementing the
construction of such improvements is the most feasible way of
accomplishing the purpose,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City
of Port Townsend, in regular session assembled, as follows:
Section 1.
That it is the intent of the said City Council to
create and establish, for the purpose of installing water line
improvements therein, a Local Improvement District, over the area
of the City of Port Townsend described as follows:
In 7th S%reet, and 100 feet South therefrom, between
Holcomb and gise Streets; as to all of the remaining
described area, the lands 100 feet on each side of the
~street shall be included, that is: Kuhn Street from
19th to 18th Streets; 18th Street from Kuhn to Landes
Streets; Landes Street from 18th to 12th Streets; 12th
Street from Landes tO, Hill Streets; Hill Street from
12th to 10th Streets; 10th Street from Hill to Jackman
Streets; Jackman Street from 10th to 8th Street; 8th
Street from Jackman to Holcomb Streets; Holcomb Street
from 18th to 8th Streets; Gise Street ~rom 8th tor-10th
Streets; llth Street from Holcomb Street to Sheridan
Avenue; llth Street from Holcomb to Wilson; 12th Street
from Hill to Sheridan Streets; 13th Street from Holcomb
to Cleveland Streets; 14th Street~ from Holcomb to
Sheridan Streets; 15th Street from Holcomb to Cleveland
Streets; 16th Street from Holcomb to Cleveland Streets;
and 17th Street from Holcomb to Cleveland Streets;
all lying_and~'being_.in either the Eisenbeis Addition or the
Railroad Addition to the City of Port Townsend.
S~c~ion 2. The estimated cost of the proposed improuement is
the sum of $157,870.00, and the amount thereof is expecte~.~.~3~e .........
a ten (10) year period. It is proposed that assessment shall be
based upon measure of area served by the improvement. All
assessments would become liens against the affected property.
Section 3. ~ublic hearing will be held on the proposed and
intended Lo~al Improvement District at the City Council chambers
in the City Hall at Port Townsend, Washington, at 7:30 P.M., on·
June 22, 1976, at which time and place all interested parties will
be heard, and a presentation will be made by the City Engineer.
Section 4. Notice of said public hearing shall be given in the
form and manner required by law for Local Improvement District
public hearings.
