A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the
City of Port Townsend, WashiDgton,
authorizing the sUbmission of a final
joint application for Community
Development Block Grant funds under
the Department of Housing and
Urban Development.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend recognizes the need for improved land use, increased
economic and housing opportunities for low and moderate income
people, correcting health and safety deficiencies in deconcen-
trated low and moderate income housing, and
WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Port Town-
sned have expressed an interest in meeting these needs, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban
Development has financial aid available under the Small Cities
Program of the Community Development Block Grant Program of
1974 and 1977, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban
Development has invited the below stated jurisdictions to
submit a final application for said funds, nowltherefore,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Port Townsend:
Section 1. That the City of Port Townsend
join Clallam County, the Town of Forks, the City of Port
Angeles, the City of Sequim, and Jefferson County, in the
Submission of a final application for Small Cities Program,
Community Development Block Grant funds.
Section 2. That the allocation of direct
rehabilitation funds to each jurisdiction will be determined
on a proportionate share based on the number and eligibility
of applicants in each of the participating jurisdictions.
