A RESOLUTION DECLARING SUPPORT FOR THE YOUNG
ADULT CONSERVATION CORPS AND URGING THE CONGRESS
OF THE UNITED STATES TO SUPPORT AND CONTINUE
THE YOUNG ADULT CONSERVATION CORPS.
Whereas, The Young Adult Conservation Corps is a valuable and
needed program providing jObs for young people and
valuable work for our nation's natural resources.
Whereas, While the council recognizes the imperative to fight
inflation, to do so at the expense of our youth and
our resources is self defeating.
Whereas, The Fort Worden Young Adult Conservation Corps
program has been a valuable asset to Port Townsend.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE PORT TOWNSEND
CITY COUNCIL URGES THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED
STATES TO PROVIDE THE NECESSARY FUNDS TO CONTINUE
THE YOUNG ADULT CONSERVATION CORPS.
