A RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE ROUTING OF AN
UNDERWATER AND SUBTERRANEAN OIL PIPELINE
IN THE STATE OF WASHINGTON.
WHEREAS, tourism, fishing, and marine related businesses
are vital to the economic well being of the community; and,
WHEREAS, the health and general well being of the citizens
of the community depend upon the quality of our environment; and,
WHEREAS, the possibility of oil spills and chronic leakage
pose as unacceptable risk to the well being of the community,
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED,-that the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend opposes the construction of an oil trans-shipment
pipeline in the State of Washington by the Trans Mountain Oil
Pipeline Company.
