A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER APPROVE AND SIGN ALL DOCUMENTS
RELATED TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE 5 MILLION GALLON WATER
RESERVOIR COATING PROJECT WITHIN THE AVAILABLE FUNDING AND
APPROVED BUDGET FOR THE PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the importance of maintenance and
improvements to the water distribution system and has approved the budget for those
improvements through the 2010 Capital Improvement Projects; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to move forward with these
projects to construction in the most expedient manner; and
WHEREAS, the City staff and project consultants have completed design and
engineering of the 5 Million Gallon (MG) Water Reservoir Coating Project; and
WHEREAS, the-City will solicit bids for construction services in conformance
with City and State public works bid laws in a fair and timely fashion; and
WHEREAS, the City Council must authorize the awazding of bids for any
project over $20,000 and may delegate and authorize the City Manager to award the
contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Port Townsend that the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign this resolution to authorize the City
Manager to sign all necessary documents and contracts for the SMG Reservoir Coating Project.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regulaz meeting
thereof, held this ninth day of August 2010.
