HomeMy WebLinkAbout82-003 RESO .UT ON No. RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OP PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend is the record owner of the hereinafter described real estate; WHEREAS, in the improvement of SR 20, Ludlow Road to Port Townsend by the State of Washington, Department of Transportation, it is necessary and advisable for the State of Washington to acquire a Temporary Easement for highway slopes, over and on the following described parcel. Ail that portion of "VanBuren Street" lying Northwesterly of Water Street and Southeasterly of the following described line. Beginning at the most Southerly corner of the East 50 feet of Lot 3 in Block 35 of the original townsite of Port Townsend being opposite Highway Engineer's Station (hereinafter referred to as HES) 664+05 on the survey line of SR 20, Ludlow Road to Port Townsend; thence Northeasterly to a point on the Southwesterly line of Lot 7 in Block 36 of said plat opposite HES 665+83 being 80 feet Northwesterly as measured along said Southwesterly line of the most Southerly corner of said Lot 7 and the end of this line description. The lands over which said easement is being granted contain an area of 0.10 acre, more or less, the specific details concerning all of which are to be found within that certain map of definite location now of record and on file in the office of the Secretary of Transportation at Olympia, Washington and bearing date of approval February 18, 1930 and. last revised November 23, 1981. WHEREAS, after due consideration by the City Council of City of Port Townsend, it appears to the said Council that it will be in the best interests of both City of Port Townsend and the State of Washington that the City of Port Townsend convey said lands to the State of Washington by quit claim deed for a consideration of mutual benefits; NOW THEREFORE, be hereby RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, that the City of Port Townsend in accordance with RCW 47.12.040 and through its Council to deliver said deed to the State of &ash. ington, Department of Transportation, conditiOned upon the described nos reverting to the City upon completion of said improvement proJect ~ PASSED and APPROVED by the City Council of Port Townsend the ~'~ day of Attest
