A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING CONDITIONS FOR WRITING
OFF AMBULANCE SERVICE CHARGES.
WHEREAS, it is recognized that the nature of ambulance service is such
that charges for said service may not be collected because of financial,
humanitarian or contractual reasons, now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend that
charges made for service by the City ambulance service may be removed from
the accounts of the City, under the following conditions:
(a) Two notices of the charges have been sent to the service recipient,
and have been returned undelivered inthe regular mail.
(b) Inquiry by the Clerk-Treasurer has satisfied him that the service
recipient does not have the ability to pay.
(c)There is no contractual basis for the charge.
(d) In the discretion of the Clerk-Treasurer, payment cannot be effected
economically.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk-Treasurer, in his discretion, is
authorized to assign any or all of the accounts herein mentioned to a licensed
credit bureau for collection.
