~ RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ~AYOR ~ND CLERK TO
EXECUTE CONTRACTS WITH ARTISTS FOR DESIGN AND
CONSTRUCTION OF MODELS PROPOSED FOR THE JACKSON
BEQUEST ART PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend has, by the Last
Will and Testament of Ruth S. Jackson, be bequeathed a
portion of her estate for the design and construction of
certain artwork for the City of Port Townsend as described
in said Last Will, and
WHEREAS, the City desires to use a portion of the funds
received from the Estate of Ruth S. Jackson to contract with
selected artists for the design and construction of models
of proposed artworks, to be reviewed by the City for selec-
tion of one proposed artwork and thereafter a contract with
the selected artist for the design and construction of the
artwork itself, now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the Clerk are here
and hereby authorized and directed to execute the attached
contract for design art with each of the eight artists se-
lected by the City and its agents for the design, construction
and submission of a model to be reviewed by the City, and
for performance of the other terms and conditions as set forth
in the contract for design art.
