A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDING
ASSISTANCE FOR AN AQUATIC LAND ENHANCEMENT ACCOUNT
PROJECT TO THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
WHEREAS under the provisions of Chapter 79.24.580 RCW,
state funding assistance has been a~thorized and made available
to aid in financing the cost of land and the construction
of facilities for public access to and aquatic land enhance-
ment of state owned aquatic lands; and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Port Townsend
considers it in the best public interest to make improvements
and betterments to a portion of Chetzamoka Park abutting
beach and water lands to improve access and prevent erosion
and to a portion of Adams Street within the City abutting
beach and water lands for those same purposes,
NOW THERFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Port Townsend, Washington:
I. That the mayor be authorized to make formal application
to the Department of Natural Resources:
2. That any funding assistance so received be used in
the development of the two areas described above to improve
public access and use of beach and water lands and to aid
in erosion control and improve the waterfront of the City;

4. That no property be acquired, although if at a~Y
time any propery was acquired with financial aid through the
Aquatic Land Enchancement Account, that the same be placed
in use in accordance with the terms of the financial aid
approved by the Department of Natural Resources;
5. That this resolution become part of formal application
to the Department of Natural Resources; and
6. That public mee~Lngsof the City's Park Board have been
held and the Board has considered the proposed work and appli-
cation for this grant and has received and considered public
input.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend
Washington at its regular meeting held June 18th, 1985, signed
and approved by the Mayor and the Clerk of the City this l~'
day of June, 1985.
