Accepting Preserve America Grant
RESOLUTION NO. 10-019
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT A PRESERVE
AMERICA GRANT FOR THE WAYFINDING PROJECT
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, does resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend desires to develop a Waylinding System that
will help guide visitors to key destination paints and local visitor amenities; and
'WHEREAS, the Wayfnding System will help support Fort Townsend's overall brand as
a Victorian Seaport and maritime center; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Townsend desires to accept a grant through the Preserve
America Grant Program to fund a project to develop the Waylinding System.; and
WHEREAS, this grant will help advance the kiosk program associated with sign code
revisions (Ch. 17.76).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Cauncil of the City of Port
Townsend hereby endorses the Waylinding Project and authorizes acceptance of the Preserve
America grant.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this twenty-first day of June 2010.
