WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend is to receive a bequest
of funds in the approximate amount of $250,000.00 from the estate of
Ruth S. Jackson, and said bequest is for the purposes of construct-
ing a certain artistic monument or memorial as provided in her last
Will, and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend has negotiated with
Douglas Hollis and Charles Fahlen for them to design and assist in
construction of the project in accordance with a model submitted by
them and previously approved by the Executor of the Ruth Jackson
estate and,
WHEREAS, design development and construction work must be
accomplished to complete the project, and presently the cost of con-
struction of the project as depicted by the model is not known, and
WHEREAS, the City desires to enter into an agreement with
the artist for the artist to provide certain services with respect
to the design and development of the project, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the City Clerk are here
and hereby authorized to execute the attached Artist Agreement, as
revised by the City Council at its meeting on March 7, 1986, upon
the terms and conditions set forth in said Agreement.
Approved by the City Council and signed by the Mayor of
the City of Port Townsend this 7th day of March, 1986.
