A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH JEFFERSON COUNTY
FOR MUNICIPAL COURT SERVICES
WHEREAS, the CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND is required to establish and
operate a municipal court for the judicial processing of City
cases, and,
WHEREAS, the District Court of Jefferson County, Washington has
provided court services for municipal requirements of the City for
many years, and,
WHEREAS, it is desirable that the combination of the municipal court
of the City and the District Court of Jefferson County be continued
for the year of 1986, ant the sum of $35,747.00 has been budgeted
therefore, it is
RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby
authorized and directed to ente~ into the annexed AGREEMENT FOR
COURT SERVICES AND PAYMENT with Jefferson County, Washington for
the purpose of obtaining municipal court services for the City
in the County District Court, and to pay the sum of $35,747 for
services during the year of 1986.

AGREEMENT FOR COURT SERVI[
AND PAYMENT
WHEREAS, JEFFERSON COUNTY, a municipal corporation of the State of
Washington, hereinafter called "County", and the CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
a municipal corporation, hereinafter called "City", have agreed that
municipal court services for the City will be supplied by the District
Court for the County, for the year of 1986, and that the City shall pay
the sum of $35,747.00 for such services for the year, now, therefore,
IT IS AGREED, pursuant to the direction of the legislative bodies
of the parties hereto, that the County shall provide full court services
for municipal cases of the City for the year 1986, including public
defender services, probation supervision, and all clerical and adminis-
trative services for the sum of $35 747.00 to be paid to the County
by the City on or after September 17, 1986. The City shall receive all
proceeds from cour~flevied fines. 4~,
