A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ENTER INTO
A TEMPORARY LEASE AGREEMENT FOR THE MUNICIPAL
GOLF COURSE
WHEREAS, the previous lease by the City of Port Townsend
of the City's golf course located within the City of Port Townsend,
and the extensions thereof, have expired, and the previous Lessee,
the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Port Townsend Lodge
Number 317, a fraternal corporation, elected not to renew or extend
said lease, and
WHEREAS, the City desires to continue the operation of
the golf course for an interim period until the City decides and
elects in what manner to continue the use and operation of the golf
course, and
WHEREAS, Richard G. and Ester M. Hausmann, have sublet
the premises from the Elks Club for a period of ten (10) years and
desired to continue leasing the same on an interim basis until the
City decided and elected on the continued use and operation of the
premises, and
WHEREAS, the previous tenants leased the golf course
premises for a four (4) month term, on an interim basis, until the
City decided and elected upon the continued use and operation of
the premises, and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend desires to now in
enter a month-to-month interim lease agreement with Hike Early
Golf S~ops.~ /nc._~--,_-_- .............. _ ....... , to lease, manage and
operate the golf course until such further time as the City decides
and elects upon the continued use and operation of the premises,
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved, that the Mayor and the
City Clerk are authorized and directed to enter into the annexed
Lease Agreement, providing for the lease of the golf course to the
Lessees named therein, for a go~f~ course on a month to month basis.
