HomeMy WebLinkAbout2693 Supplemental Budget AppropriationsORDINANCE 2693 AN ORDINANCE appropriating the sum of $161,025 to the General Fund; $25,000 to the Arterial Street Fund; $15,000 to the Library Fund; $35,000 to the Community Development Block Grant Fund; $15,000 to the System Development Charge Fund; $50,000 to the Capital Improvement Fund; $145,000 to the Water/Sewer Fund; $50,000 to the Storm and Surface Water Fund; $230,730 to the Transmission Line Replacement Fund, making findings and declaring an emergency. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, UPON REVIEW OF THE 1999 BUDGET, MAKES THE FOLLOWING FINDINGS: Whereas, the Mayor/Council has experienced greater than anticipated needs for certain operating expenses; and Whereas, the City Manager has experienced greater than anticipated needs for certain operating expenses in the search for a permanent City Manager; and Whereas, the Fire Department has experienced greater than anticipated needs for certain operating expenses; and Whereas, the Fire Department has remaimng carryover costs for the fire hall seismic project that are transferred to the Capital Improvement Fund; and Whereas, the Arterial Street Fund has experienced greater than anticipated needs for certain operating expenses; and Whereas, the Library hos remaining carryover costs for its remodel project that are transferred to the Capital Improvement Fund; and Whereas, the Community Development Block Grant Fund has experienced greater than anticipated needs for certain operating expenses; and Whereas, the System Development Charge Fund has experienced greater than anticipated needs for certain operating expenses; and Whereas, the Capital Improvement Fund has experienced greater than anticipated needs for certain for capital improvements; and Whereas, the Water/Sewer Fund has experienced greater than anticipated needs for capital improvements; and Whereas, the Storm and Surfa~ Water Fund has exp~onc, ed greater than anticipated needs for carryover of uncompleted studies from 1998; and Whereas, the Transmission Line Replacement Fund has experienced greater than anticipated needs for capital improvements and repairs; and THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1 The sum of ONE HU-NDRED SIXTY ONE THOUSAND TWENTY FIVE ONE DOLLARS ($161,025) is hereby appropriated as a supplement to the 1999 Oeneral Fund budget from the beginning fund balance, as shown in Exlfibit A, attached hereto. Section 2. The sum of TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($25,000) is hereby appropriated as a supplement to the 1999 budget for the Arterial Street Fund from beginning fund balance as set forth in Exhibit A, attached hereto. Seection3 The sum of FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($15,000) is hereby appropriated as a supplement to the 1999 budget for the Library Fund from beginning fund balance as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto. Section4 The sum of THIRTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($35,000) is hereby appropriated as a supplement to the 1999 Community Development Block Grant Fund from the beginning fund balance as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto. Section 5 The sum of FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($15,000) is hereby appropriated as a supplement to the 1999 budget for the System Development Charge Fund from the be~nning fund balance as set forth in Exhibit A, attached hereto. Section 6 The sum of FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($50,000) hereby appropriated as a supplement to the 1999 Capital Improvement Fund Budget from the bo~inning fund balance as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto. Section 7 The sum of ONE HUNDRED FOURTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($145,000) is hereby appropriated as a supplement to the 1999 budget for the Water/Sewer Fund from the beginning fired balance as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto. S. ection 8 The sum of FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($50,000) hereby appropriated as a supplement to the 1999 Storm and Surface Water Fund Budget from the beginning fund balance as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto. Section 9 The sum of TWO HUNDRED THIRTY THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED THIRTY DOLLARS ($230,730) is hereby appropriated as a suppleme~/t to the 1999 budget for the Transmission Line Replacement Fund I~om the bo~nning fund balance as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto. Section 10 There is hereby found and declared to be an emergency, requiring the foregoing appropriations to the 1999 budget. Section 11 This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage, approval, and publication in the form and manner provided by law, Pamela Kolacy, City Clerk A duly noticed public hearing was held on April 5, 1999, Read for the first, second and third times; passed by the City Council; and approved by the Mayor on April 5, 1999.
