A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PORT TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
ENTER INTO A LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING WITH
GENERAL TEAMSTERS UNION LOCAL 589 REGARDING
THE ADDITION OF THE POSITION OF BUILDING
INSPECTOR TO THE CURRENT LABOR AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS,
WHEREAS,
WHEREAS,
the City Council has authorized in the 1989 budget that
the position of Building Inspector become an hourly
position with variable hours greater than part-time;
and
the City of Port Townsend has a current labor agreement
with General Teamsters Union Local 589 which remains in
effect until December 31, 1989; and
the Mayor and General Teamsters Union Local 589 have
reached agreement on a Letter of Understanding
prescribing the conditions under which the position of
building inspector is added to the bargaining unit
within the current labor agreement; Now, Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter a Letter of
Understanding with General Teamsters Union Local 589
substantially in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and
approved by the Mayor this Fourth day of April, 1989.
