HomeMy WebLinkAbout89-086RESOLUTION NO 89-86 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN INTERAGENCY LEASEHOLD AGREEMENT WITH THE WASHING- TON STATE PARKS AND RECREATION~COMMISSION IN CON- NECTION WITH RENOVATION OF THE HISTORIC FORT WORDEN STATE PARK BALLOON HANGAR WHEREAS, the City of Port Tcwnsend has previously passed Reso- lution No. 89-80, in support of the concept of the renovation and improvement to the historic Fort Worden State Park balloon hangar and the City's financial participation therein, and WHEREAS, the City desires to enter into an interagency lease- hold agreement with the Washington State Parks and Recreation Com- mission setting forth the terms under which the City will partici- pate in the project, a copy of which agreement is attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated into this Resolution as if set forth in full, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Port Town- send that the Mayor of the City is here and hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City of Port Townsend an interagency lease- hold agreement between the City of Port Townsend and the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission, in substantially the form attached hereto as Exhibit A, upon the agreement first being approved by the City Attorney for the City of Port Townsend, and further, that the City's obligations under said agreement shall be subject to the following conditions precedent: 1. That the City in fact obtain the FmHA loan of $250,000 for which the City has applied to provide the funding for the project; 2. That final plans for the proposed renovation and construc- tion are approved by the City Council; and 3. That sufficient funds are raised by the State and/or the Centrum Foundation to proceed with the project, and the State does in fact proceed with the project to completion.
