A RESOLUTION authorizing a contract with the
Washington State Department of Community
Development to undertake a specific
development plan for the Port Townsend
Gateway Project with assistance from the
Local Development Matching Fund Program.
on May 11, 1988, the City Council adopted by Resolution
88-43 a concept plan for the future development of the
Sims Way Corridor; and
the City has been awarded grant funds from the
Washington Department of Community Development and the
Washington State Department of Transportation to
develop a specific development plan in implementation
of the Port Townsend Gateway Concept Plan; and
contributions have been pledged in support of this goal
by the Port Townsend-Jefferson County Chamber of
COmmerce, Puget Power, Jefferson Transit Authority, and
the Economic Development Council of Jefferson County;
and
the City Council has appropriated matching funds in the
1990 Budget of the City of Port Townsend; Now,
Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement
with the Washington State Department of Community Development
substantially in the form of the agreement attached hereto and
labelled Contract No. 2-90-741-020.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and
