A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE I,~YOR OF THE CITY
TO ACCEPT THE COUNTER-OFFER FOR THE PURCHASE OF
LOTS 1 THROUGH 4, BLOCK 11, CALIFORNIA ADDITION
TO THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE ANY DOCU-
MENTS AND DISBURSE ANY FUNDS NECESSARY TO CLOSE
THE PURCHASE AND SALE
WHEREAS, the City previously made an offer to purchase Lots 1
through 6 and Lot 8 of Block 11 of the California Addition to the
City of Port Townsend, from Gregg C. Knowles; and
WHEREAS, Gregg C. Knowles has proposed a counter-offer for
the sale of said property to the City, dated July 31, 1990; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to purchase the property in accord-
ance with the terms of the counter-offer; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Port Town-
send that the Mayor of the City be and he is here and hereby
authorized to accept the counter-offer on behalf of the City, sub-
stantially in accordance with the terms thereof set forth on at-
tached Exhibit A which is by this reference incorporated herein as
if set forth in full, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk of
the City are here and hereby authorized and directed to sign and
execute any and all other documents necessary and appropriate to
close the Purchase and Sale, and the Clerk is here and hereby
authorized and directed to disburse funds and issue the City's
warrant or warrants for the purchase of said property, in accord-
ance with the Purchase and Sale Agreement.
Passed by the City Council for the City of Port Townsend on
August 7, 1990, and signed by the Mayor on August 9, 1990.
