AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND REVISING AND
ESTABLISHING THE FEES FOR THE RECREATION AND SWIMMING
PROGRAMS, EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 31, 1999, AND AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 2679
WHEREAS, beginning January 1, 1995, the City agreed to take over the public recreation
program and management of the swimming pool, located at Mountain View Elementary School and
owned by the Port Townsend School District; and
WHEREAS, in Ordinance 2679 and in Ordinance 2618, the City Council amended
Ordinance 2557 setting fees for the Recreation and Swim Programs for 1997; and
WHEREAS, following public City Council hearings, workshops, and meetings, in order to
defray City costs, the City determines it necessary to establish and adjust fees for the recreation
programs for 1999,
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, in regular session
hereby ordains as follows:
SECTION 1. From and after December 31, 1999, the following revised fees and charges
are established for the City Recreation Program:

SECTION 2. The following fees and charges are established and in effect for the year 2000
City Swimming Program:

SECTION 3. The Parks, Recreation and Property Committee of the City Council is hereby
authorized to set special rates for the recreation and swimming programs for promotional purposes.
Such revisions of the above fees and charges shall be for limited periods of time only, and need not
be approved by full Council.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage, approval, and publication
in the form and manner provided by law.
SECTION 5. Severability. If any clause, sentence, paragraph, section or part of this
Ordinance or its application to any person or circumstance is held to be invalid or unconstitutional
by a court of competent jurisdiction, such order or judgment shall not affect the validity or
constitutionality of the remainder of any part of this Ordinance. To this end, the provisions of each
clause, sentence, paragraph, section or part of this law are declared severable.
