Section 306 Coastal Zone Management funding
from the Washington State Department of
Ecology's Shoreland and Coastal Zone
Management Program.
WHEREAS,
The Port Townsend Urban Waterfront plan was
adopted by the City on December 4, 1990; and
WHEREAS,
The recommendations of the plan include developing a
public access trail along the shoreline of the Urban
Waterfront and establishing a Point Hudson Urban Maritime
Special District; and
WHEREAS,
the office of Shoreland and Coastal Zone
Management of the Washington State Department
of Ecology has requested proposals for
matching grant assistance for improvements to
local shoreline master programs and specific
shoreline projects, Now, Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
that the Mayor is hereby authorized to make application to the
Department of Ecology for matching grant assistance for planning
and public process resulting in the amendment and revision of
sections of the Jefferson County and Port Townsend Shoreline Master
Program.
