RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION authorizing the City of
Port Townsend to enter into an agreement
with Jefferson County regarding the project
for reconstruction of Kearney Street.
WHEREAS,
The City of Port Townsend proposes to
reconstruct Kearney Street from the water
front to Blaine Street; and,
WHEREAS,
The City of Port Townsend proposes that the project
would include a road width travel way of 24' with
parking on one side and 5' sidewalks the entire
length from west side and on east side from SR 20
to Lawrence; curbs and gutters entire length with
storm sewer from Lawrence extending to existing
outfall; may consider bikepaths and pedestrian ways;
and,
WHEREAS,
City of Port Townsend estimates that total
project costs will be $300,000 with $90,000 of
the cost to come from City funds allocated for
Arterial Streets in 1991 budget; and
WHEREAS,
The City of Port Townsend proposes that
Jefferson County be the approving authority,
utilizing the County's Certification Acceptance
for the Federal Aid Project for reconstruction
of Kearney Street; and,
WHEREAS,
The City of Port Townsend proposes that Jefferson
County shall prepare Plans, Specifications and
Estimates in accordance with the Local Agency
Guidelines, utilizing information available from
both the City and the County agencies; and,
WHEREAS,
The City of Port Townsend proposes that Jefferson
County perform other tasks relevant to this project
outlined in Exhibit "B" of the Interlocal Agreement
as attached herein,
N o w , T h e r e f o r e,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into this agreement
with Jefferson County and to direct the Public Works Director to
make arrangements with Jefferson County for the Federal Aid Project
for reconstruction of Kearney Street.
