A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND, A~ORIZING THE NAYORTO SIGN CON~RACTS FOR
FEMA FUNDS AVAILABLE TO THE CITY FOR DAMAGES INCURRED
DURING SEVERE WINTER STORMS IN NOVEHBERAND DECEMBER
1990.
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend incurred heavy damages to parks,
streets, water and wastewater facilities during severe winter
storms in November and December, 1990, and
WHEREAS, the Governor of the State of Washington and the President
of the United States each declared the City of Port Townsend as a
part of designated disaster areas, and
WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency provides partial
relief to public agencies under such disaster conditions, and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend Department of Public Works has
submitted all appropriate applications for such relief assistance
to FEMA, and
WHEREAS, FEMAhas approved certain monies to be paid to the City of
Port Townsend for disaster relief,
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of
Port Townsend that it authorizes the Mayor to sign contract papers
with FEMA to received monies in the amount of approximately
$50,000.00.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and signed
