A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOB~SEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY FOR PURCHASE PURSUANT TO COM-
PETITIVE BID OF AN AMBULANCE FROM BRAUN NORTH~ST
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY TREASURER TO DISBURSE FUNDS
OF THE CITY FOR THE PUREH~SE PURSUANT TO THE CONTRACT.
WHEREAS the City of Port Townsend called for bids for the
purchase of an ambulance in accordance with law and
WHEREAS two bids were received and opened, on each from d~~¢~a~/
Ashley Emergency Vehicles of Jefferson, North Carolina and from
Braun Northwest of Chehalis, Washington, and
k~EREAS the City Council has reviewed a memorandum dated
June 28, 1991, addressed to the Council from the Fire Dept.
Ambulance Specification Committee, setting forth an analysis
of the two bids received, and
WHEREAS the City Council accepts the analysis of the Fire
Dept. committee, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A
and by this reference incorporated herein as if set forth in
full, and
WHEREAS the City Council finds, after considering the
written analysis and the discussion had at its regular meeting
on July 2, 1991, that Braun Northwest is the most capable of
the bidders of ~ompleting the contract in the most satisfactory
manner at the least cost to the City in accordance with the City's
specifications, and for these and the reasons set forth in Exhibit
A, Braun Northwest is found to be the most responsible lowest
~idder and that the contract as proposed would be in the best
interests of the City, now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Port
Townsend that the bid of Braun Northwest for an ambulance is
hereby accepted; the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to
execute a contract and such other documents as may be necessary
for the purchase of the ambulance; and the City Treasurer is
authorized to disburse the City's funds and issue the City's
warrant or warrants in payment for the same from the appropriate
fund pursuant to the contract so executed.
Passed by the City Council for the City of Port Townsend and
signed by the Mayor of the City July 2, 1991.
