A REsoLUTIoN OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND, AUTHORIZING THE N~YOR TO SIGN A WASTEWATER
TREATMENT PLANTGRANT AI~ENDM~NT TI{AT WILL RESERVE STATE
GRANT FUNDS AVAILABLE TO THE CITY IN AN ATTEMPT TO REDUCE
OVERALL COSTS.
WHEREAS, the City has received grant funding from the
Centennial Cleanwater Fund and the Centennial Hardship Fund
for expansion of the Wastewater Treatment Plant; and
WHEREAS, the State has not yet formalized the Final Offer
Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the State has required signed documentation
committing these grant funds by July 16, 1991; and
WHEREAS, the State is attempting to provide reasonable grant
funds with the concept of allocating excess grant funds to
other appropriate projects within the State; and
WHEREAS, the City has need for the maximum amount of
available to them from the State grant funds,
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City
of Port Townsend that it authorizes the Mayor to sign a grant
agreement that will reserve the maximum amount of grant funds
available to the City in an attempt to reduce overall cost for
the expansion of the City's Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and
signed by the Mayor this 2nd. day of___July , 1991.
