A RESOLUTION authorizing a contract with the Washington State
Energy Office for assistance in implementing and enforcing the
newly adopted 1991 Washington State Energy Code.
WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted the 1991 Washington State Energy Code and the
199I Indoor Air Quality and Ventilation Code; and
WHEREAS, assistance is available through the Washington State Energy Office for start-up
costs, training, technical assistance, inspections and enforcement; and
WHEREAS,
the 1991 Budget of the City of Port Townsend does not provide adequate
resources to provide for the additional costs of implementing and enforcing the
new code; Now Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND that
the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement for the Washington State Energy
Code Program services, substantially in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A, with the
Washington State Energy Office, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that any actions taken pursuant to this authorization but prior
to its adoption are hereby ratified and confirmed.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and approved by the Mayor this 16th
day of July, 1991.
