A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A CON-
TRACT WITH THE PORT OF PORT TOWNSEND FOR CON-
STRUCTION AND FUNDING OF A WATER MAIN LINE IN
AND THROUGH PROPERTY OF THE PORT OF PORT TOWN-
SEND WITH THE CITY OF PORT TO~SEND
~EREAS, the Port of Port Townsend is in need of additional
fire flow capabilities and a water main to run through Port prop-
erty for this purpose and to supply water to areas within Port
property, and the Port has applied for a grant to do so and the
City is authorized to construct water main lines as part of the
operation of its water system, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Town-
send that the Mayor and the Clerk of the City be hereby author-
ized to execute on behalf of the City a contract with the Port in
substantially the form attached hereto as ATTACHMENT ONE, and the
Mayor, Clerk-Treasurer and Public Works Department of the City
are authorized to carry out the terms of said contract on behalf
of the City and expend City funds by the issuance of the City's
warrants therefor from the City's Water-Sewer Utility fund as
necessary to perform said contract, if a Community Economic Re-
vitalization Board loan is not available by September 30, 1991.
Passed by the City Council for the City of Port Townsend and
signed by the Mayor of the City this 3rd day of September, 1991.
