A RESO~ION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TO~NS[~[I)
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AGREEMENTS WITH BREMERTON, TACOMA,
RENTON~ PORT LUDLOW WASTEWATERTREA~P~STOACCEPTCITY
BIOSOLiDS FOR THE SHORT TERM.
WHEREAS, The City has been informed of Jefferson County's
intention to close the Jefferson County landfill to the receipt of
the City's biosolids as of January 1, 1992; and
~, The City is under a compliance schedule from the State
Department of Ecology to construct a new secondary wastewater
treatment facility, and is scheduled to have this facility in
operation by December 1993; and
WHEREAS, The City is under a compliance schedule from the State

treatment facility, and is scheduled to have this facility in
operation by December 1993; and
WHEREAS, The City is therefore in needof short term acceptance of
biosolids, and is presently working on proposals from the above
mentioned sites,
N O W T H E R E F O R E
Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend
that it authorizes the Mayor to enter into agreements with the
above mentioned wastewater treatment plants to accept City
biosolids for the short term.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and signed
by the Mayor this l~+~ day of ~czn~b~ , 1991,
