HomeMy WebLinkAbout2743 Parking Time Limits - 2 Hour/15 MinuteOrdinance No. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND AMENDING CHAPTER 10.04, PARKING, SECTION 10.04.190 - TWO HOUR PARKING AND SECTION 10.04.194 - FIFYEEN-MINUTE PARKING OF THE PORT TOWNSEND MUNICIPAL CODE, TO MODIFY PARKING LIMITATIONS WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend determines that modification of existing parking regulation in Chapter 10.04, Parking, is appropriate to amend and provide for certain existing 15-minute parking limitations as set forth in this Ordinance, in order to facilitate movement oftraffic and access to the business district, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend do ordain as follows: SECTION 1. CHAPTER 10.04 PARKING, SECTION 10.04.194 FIFTEEN- MINUTE PARKING, of the Port Townsend Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: 10.04.194 Fifteen-minute parking. It is unlawful for any person to stand or park any motor vehicle continuously at the same place for more than 15 minutes between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on any day except Sundays and holidays, on the following streets of the city: Harrison Street between Washington Street and Jefferson Street, on the west side. ]~. Van Buren Street between WashingtOn Street and the alley, on the east side. Ct}. The two parking spaces immediately in front of the entry door into the Waterman and Katz Building, on the l00 block of Quincy Street. L)~. One parking space on Water Street, between Madison Street and the parking area bordering the west side of the police station (directly in front of the police station). E. The first _o~king ._space on the west side of Taylor Street closest to and north of Water Street (at the northwest comer of Taylor Street and Water Street~. F. The second p~ldng space on the east side of Taylor Street. ad_iac~nt to ang north of the parking place reserved for physically disabled persons which is closest to and north of Water Street (at the northeast corner of Taylor Street and Water Street), G. The second _mrking space on the west side of Adams Street. closest to and north of the parking place reserved for physically disabled persons which is closest to and north of Water Street (_at the northwest comer of Adams Street and Water Street), H. The first p~king sp~ on the east side of Adams Street closest to and north of Water Street (at the northeast comer of Taylor Street and Water StreetL SECTION 2. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance or its application to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance, or the application of the provision to other persons or circumstances is not affected. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five days after the date of its publication in the manner provided by law.
