AN ORDINANCE appropriating the sum of $40,000 to the Lodging Tax Fund;
$20,000 to the Solid Waste Fund; and making findings and declaring an
emergency. ~
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, UPON REVIEW OF
THE 2000 BUDGET, MAKES THE FOLLOWING FINDINGS:
Whereas, the City Council has approved the funding of Marine Science Center
with a general fund bond issue of $60,000 and $40,000 from the Lodging Tax
Fund; and
Whereas, the Solid Waste Fund has experience greater than anticipated operating
expenses at the County transfer station, and the Solid Waste Fund has sufficient
revenues to pay the increased costs; and
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND IN REGULAR
SESSION ASSEMBLED DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 The sum of FORTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($40,000) is hereby
appropriated as a supplement to the 2000 Lodging Tax Fund budget from fund
balance.
Section 2 The sum of TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($20,000) is
hereby appropriated as a supplement to the 2000 Solid Waste Fund from fund
balance.
Section 3 There is hereby found and declared to be an emergency requiring
the foregoing appropriations to the 2000 budget.
Section 4 This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage, approval, and
publication in the form and manner provided by law.
A duly noticed public hearing was held on December 18, 2000, read for the first,
second and third times; passed by the City Council; and approved by the Mayor
on /0e¢ lB .,2000. ~
