A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO AWARD BIDS FOR
EQUIPMENT PURCHASES FOR THE BIOSOLIDS/COMPOSTING
FACILITY SITE.
WHEREAS,
The City is expanding the Wastewater Treatment Plant and constructing a
biosolids/composting facility as required by the Washington State Department of
Ecology; and
WHEREAS, The City wishes to construct the facility in a time frame that will eliminate the
need to haul septage/sludge long distances for any longer than is necessary; and
WHEREAS,
The City has now received grant funds for the construction of this
facility which include funds budgeted for heavy equipment including dewatering
and materials handling equipment;
WHEREAS, The City has advertised and received bids for this equipment in a fair and timely
fashion,
NOW THEREFORE
Be it resolved by the City COuncil of the City of Port Townsend that it authorizes the Mayor to
award bids for equipment purchaSes for Phas~
