for the City of Port Townsend Transportation
Planning Advisory Committee.
WHEREAS,
the City of Port Townsend is experiencing substantial
residential and commercial growth, and improved
transportation services will be required to accommodate
the needs of a larger community; and
WHEREAS,
pursuant to the Washington State Growth Management Act,
an updated Comprehensive Plan will be adopted including
a transportation element; and
WHEREAS,
the ability to make the best decisions for Port Townsend
depends on careful, respectful consideration of all needs
and perspectives through effective public participation;
and
WHEREAS,
a Transportation Planning Advisory Committee has been
established to assist the City in developing the
transportation element of an updated Comprehensive Plan;
Now; Therefore;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
that the mission of the Transportation Planning AdVisory Committee
is hereby adopted as follows:
The Transportation Planning Advisory Committee is an ad
hoc citizens' advisory committee appointed by the Mayor
to assist the City in developing a plan for future
transportation in Port Townsend. The work of the
committee is focused on future transportation needs,
advising the Planning Director, Public Works Director,
Planning Commission and City Council on plans to meet
those needs.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that any actions taken pursuant to this
authorization but prior to its passage are hereby ratified and
confirmed.
