A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
TO SIGN A LETTER AND CONCURRENCE
AGREEMENT WITH PUGET SOUND POWER &
LIGHT ALLOWING PUGET TO IMPLEMENT
ITS LINE CLEARANCE PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, Puget Sound Power & Light desires to conduct a line
clearance program, and
WHEREAS, the City expressed concerns related to the efforts of
this program on vegetation within the city limits on City Rights-
of-Way, and
WHEREAS, Puget Sound Power & Light and the City desired to
work on developing a cooperative, coordinated line clearance
program, and
WHEREAS, a Concurrence Agreement was developed for the program
through the mutual efforts of the City Tree & Brushing Work Group,
City staff, Council and Puget Sound Power & Light;
NOW T~RREFORE, be it resolved that Council authorizes the
Mayor to sign the letter and attached concurrence agreement in
order to allow Puget Sound Power & Light to move forward on its
line clearance program. This resolution is not intended to modify
any provision of the franchise agreement between Puget Sound Power
& Light and the city of Port Townsend.

Dear Tim:
Enclosed is the concurrence agreement for Puget Sound Power &
Light/City of Port Townsend cooperation on Puget's line clearance
program. The attached concurrence agreement is made a part hereof.
The City Tree & Brushing Work Group, staff, council and Puget SOund
Power & Light staff have spent many hours working through this
concurrence agreement and all involved believe it is a very
workable arrangement.
City Council has passed the attached resolution authorizing me to
approve the agreement, and we expect you to begin work soon. We
look forward to working with you and your staff on this project.
