RESOLUTION NO. 93---~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A CONTRACT
WITH CITIFOR, INC., TO PURCHASE REAL PROPERTY FOR A
WATER FILTRATION FACILITY.
The City has received notification from the Department of Health that, while
water filtration can be avoided at this time, it is anticipated that the SDWA
regulations will necessitate water filtration in the future; and
The City has identified a 20 acre parcel of real property of sufficient size and with
appropriate elevation in relation to the Olympic Gravity Water Supply system; and
This parcel, which is a portion of the Southwest Quarter, Section 4, Township 29
N, Range 1 W, has been appraised by a qualified appraiser, and is available for
purchase at $70,000, which is not more than the fair market value determined by
the appraisal; and
The City has appropriated funds in the 1993 budget for such property purchases,
N O W T H E R E F O R E
Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend that it authorizes the Mayor to
sign a contract with Citifor, Inc. to purchase the above listed property for a future water
filtration site for $70,000.
