HomeMy WebLinkAbout2763 Public Works and Utility Billing Service Fee Schedule, Charge for Compost Produced at the City's Biosolids Composting FacilityORDINANCE NO. 2763 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND AMENDING SECTION 3.36.020, PUBLIC WORKS AND UTILITY BILLING SERVICE FEE SCHEDULE, CHARGE FOR COMPOST PRODUCED AT THE CITY'S BIOSOLIDS COMPOSTING FACILITY, OF TITLE 3, REVENUE AND FINANCE, OF THE PORT TOWNSEND MUNICIPAL CODE WHEREAS, the City Council desires to revise the charge for compost produced at the city's biosolids composting facility as set forth in Chapter 3.36 PTMC to reflect changes in actual costs of administrative and handling services; and WHEREAS, it is desirable to set a maximum rate for this service and allow the City Manager to establish a cost of service based on costs and market factors; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. CHAPTER 3.36, PERMIT, APPLICATION AND APPEAL FEES Section 3.36.020, "Public Works and Utility Billing Service Fee Schedule," subsection 27 of the Port Townsend Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: TABLE 3.36.020 Fees and Charges Summary 27. Description Charges Charge for compost produced at the city's biosolids composting facility (up to 10 yards) Bulk rate for 10 yards per load or greater $!2.50 $25.00 per cubic yard (includes state sales tax)* $9.00 $20.00 per cubic yard (includes sales tax)* * The city manager Shall establish the cost of service with rates not to exceed this maximum. SECTION 2. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance or its application to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance, or the application of the provision to other persons or circumstances is not affected. 1 Ordinance 2763 SECTION 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five days after the date of its publication in the manner provided by law.
