TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE 14AYOR TO SIGN ~ CONTR]%CT WITH POL]%RIS
ENGINEERING ]bAqD SURVEYING, INC. FOR GENERAL CIVIL ENGINEERING AND
SURVEYING SERVICES.
WHEREAS
The City is or has undertaken several projects for which
the City does not have sufficient staff to conduct such
services itself at this time; and
WHEREAS,
These projects include surveying drainage corridors and
utility appurtenances for analysis and inclusion into the
GIS system, design of local and regional stormwater
systems, design of street, water, and sewer replacements
and extensions, and development of a Construction
Standards Manual; and
WHEREAS,
Funding for current engineering and surveying services
are provided through the 1993 CIP Budget and future
funding is anticipated through the 1994 CIP Budget; and
WHEREAS,
The City has conformed with the standards of the laws by
establishing a roster of qualified consultants, including
Polaris Engineering and Surveying, Inc.; and
WHEREAS,
The City has investigated the qualifications of Polaris
Engineering and Surveying, Inc. and finds that they are
qualified to perform the services required,
N O W T H E R E F O R E
Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend
that it authorizes the Mayor to sign a contract with Polaris
Engineering and Surveying, Inc. for General Civil Engineering and
Surveying Services, substantially as outlined in the attached scope
of work.
