A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A CONTRACT FOR THE
PURCHASE OF AN EASEMENT ACROSS REAL PROPERTY OWNED BY
DONALD WILLIAM HILLAND PATRICIA A. HILL FOR A STORMWATER
FACILITYAND AUTHORIZING THE CLERK/TREASURER TO ISSUE THE
WARRANTS NECESSARY TO ACCOMPLISH THE PURCHASE.
The City is aware of problems related to uncontrolled
stormwater in the developing area to the North of the
Replat of Bishop Park Addition to the City of Port
T~wnsend; and
The Public Works Department has developed a plan for the
diversion and treatment of the stormwater through an
existing drainage corridor within said plat; and
An essential component of the plan is the acquisition of
an easement across Lot 49 of said plat, which is owned by
· Donald William Hill and Patricia A. Hill; and
The easement to be acquired has been surveyed by a
licensed surveyor, appraised by a qualified appraiser and
a purchase price has been negotiated with the owners
which does not exceed the fair market value reflected in
the appraisal; and
WHEREAS, The City has appropriated funds in the 1993 budget for
such purchases,
N O W T H E R E F O R E
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
that it authorizes the Mayor to sign a contract with Donald William
Hill and Patricia A. Hill for the purchase of an easement across
Lot 49 of the Replat of Bishop Park Addition to the City of Port
Townsend for the price of $1,200, such purchase being for the
public purpose of stormwater .control. The Clerk/Treasurer is
authorized to issue the warrants necessary to accomplish the
purchase.
Adopted by the City Copncil of irt Townsend and signed
