A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO DIRECT STAFF TO SETTLE
CHANGE ORDERS FOR UP TO $5000 FOR A SINGLE CHANGE, FOR
CONSTRUCTION COSTS FOR THE BIOSOLIDS COMPOSTING FACILITY.
WHEREAS, Change Orders are a necessary and regular occurrence on large construction
projects such as the Wastewater Treatment Plant expansion and as such have
been included as 5 % of the contract amount; and
WItEREAS, Change Orders are actual changes to the original contract, requiring fair
negotiation and signatures by the City, the Engineer (CH2M Hill), the Contractor
(IMCO), and the State (DOE); and,
WHERF-AS, The City wishes to expedite negotiations and finalizing of necessary Change
Orders,
NOW THEREFORE
Be it resolved that the City Council of the City of Port Townsend does hereby request the Mayor
to authorize staff to settle Change Orders for up to $5000 for construction of the Biosolids
Composting Facility.
